NAID AAA Certified

What our AAA Certification Means For You

As you research document destruction companies, you will notice that not all will have an emblem that looks like this:

If they could they would. This emblem is awarded only to the best document destruction companies worldwide and is not easily achieved. What this means for you and your company is the utmost assurance that your relationship with our company from the first time we discuss your destruction needs onward, that our company, Document Destruction, will utilize the highest level of security, service, destruction, and more, in the handling, destruction, and disposal of your confidential information.

Here is how it works:

The National Association of Information Destruction, or, NAID, to which we are a voluntary member, is an international organization that sets the minimum acceptable standards by which companies that destroy confidential information on behalf of businesses, government, private citizens, and all other entities, are held to and judged by.

To be AAA certified by NAID means that Document Destruction has undergone, and continues to undergo, rigorous audits regarding their handling and destruction of printed media, electronic documents (such as hard drives), micro media. The criteria used by NAID demands the utmost in integrity in the destruction and disposal of these materials.

What is more, to be AAA certified means that Document Destruction must adhere to the strict standards of how our company exercises operational security, how we screen, hire, and train employees, our destruction process from the moment we come into contact with your sensitive materials to destruction, transportation and then, finally, the point when they are delivered for recycling. Our insurance coverage is also one of the criteria that must be met satisfactorily for us to achieve an AAA rating.

The process to earn a AAA rating from NAID is demanding and not easy to acquire, and requires more than just paperwork from us and a simple application. Once application has been made for a AAA rating, an unannounced audit occurs. This assures you that our organization is serious about entering mid-stream to make sure that integrity is maintained at all times. They will check everything from security cameras, video tapes, perimeter enclosures and access to materials, method of destruction and the time it takes to do so (we destroy right in front of you), visitor logs, employee background information and their compliance with drug screens, two-way communication devices between drivers and home base. The vehicles are inspected to make sure that there are no lingering shreds of paper, that the trucks are lockable and locked when an employee is not manning them, and more.

These are just some of the criteria used by NAID when they perform the audits, and they do it for your benefit. Our collective goal is to provide for you the highest level of security and destruction so you can have the peace of mind necessary to perform your other business affairs without worry.

Many companies claim to destroy documents, but if they do not have a AAA certification you have no guarantee that they will be handled as securely as is demanded by NAID, and you have to wonder why. NAIDs standards are so strict that a company with multiple sites must have site singularly audited, meaning, a national chain may have one office certified but not others. Please check and make sure as you search for a provider.

Document Destruction appreciates you considering using our services. If you have any further questions about our AAA certification, please contact us at 513-772-1114.
